The roast potatoes seemed to be pre-made and not homemade, possibly from a catering company like Brake Bros or 3663. The vegetables were served cold. I didn't want to give a negative review, considering the struggles that local pubs are facing, but I have to be honest about my experience.
We found out the landlady of the cherry tree inn at Willingham wouldn't mind if we parked our motorhome in the pubs large car park and only 3 miles on the local bus to Lincoln Christmas market. We spent 3 nights there and enjoyed drinks in the bar where the locals made us very welcome. On the Friday morning Angela (who works behind the bar her husband Steve very kindly offered to give us a lift in his car to Lincoln . Everyone was so freindly. We booked in for Sunday lunch where we met landlady Kay who had also cooked the food, and it was excellent, the meat was so tasty and tender. The pub itself is immaculately clean and inviting, we are already planning our next trip.
Went for Sunday carvery with 3 friends. The meat was succulent and plentiful. A large selection of veg to suit everyone. The staff very welcoming. Excellent value for money. We will be back again very soon
Stayed for 2 nights in my motor home on the large car park for free. enquired about food but told only on wednesday and sunday lunch times.i was on my second pint of ale when much to my surprise the landlady kay put a plateful of sandwich's in front of me saying,i was making sandwich's for the dart team so i did some extra for you and refused any payment.what a diamond landlady.the locals were very friendly as well.will definatly call in again if in the area.
We went for the inaugural cream-tea this afternoon. Kay and her family pulled out all the stops. The food was beautifully prepared and presented and tasted great. There was lots of it and the friendly atmosphere got people on different tables chatting with each other. My wife went for the Prosecco option and yet the bill came only to just over £20. We will be back.
