This place is beyond amazing! The workers are so kind and make the experience of being there even better! Everything on the menu is delicious and the cooks are very good at what they do! The music in the background there makes the atmosphere come alive and will get you in a very good mood! I can't wait to come back thank you El Toro!
I was craving tacos and while there are many many places here, I was recommended this place by a friend. I am reviewing as someone who does not eat a lot of Mexican food/unfamiliar with prices BUT I do know if I enjoy the food or not. Service felt fine and our server was nice and attentive. I don't expect much from small local shops. We ordered 4 tacos (2 lengua and 2 carne asada) and then the El toro special plate. Everything was great! Compared to places I would normally go to, I felt like the prices were fair. 4 tacos were about $12.
Ate at the restaurant on Mitchell. Food was delicious! Had the burrito, tacos and quesadilla. Chips came with 3 salsas all very good. Downside was the menu is in Spanish waitstaff spoke limited English. And didn't tell us you have to walk to the counter to get the bill. I'm will definitely go back!
This was my first time going to Taqueria El Toro, and maybe my last. I really enjoy Hispanic food, and the culture, even though my 7 year old half Puerto Rican daughter is fluent in Spanish, I don 't speak Spanish. While at the restaurant in line I asked the cashier what was a Huaraches as I didn 't know. a couple of cashiers tried to describe it to me, but they couldn 't figure out the English words. So they started talking to the person behind me in Spanish. I replied with, Lo siento, no hablo español, solo inglés, which means, I am sorry, I do not speak Spanish, only English. I did learn that phrase, yet it didn 't seem to matter. They continued to ignore me as if I wasn 't there. While talking with the person behind me in Spanish, the cashier starting to make fun of me as if to humiliate me by saying, Jaja, no español while looking at me. Seriously, WTF. Is that how you treat your non-Hispanic customers by laughing at them saying, Haha, no Spanish! If you speak Spanish, go ahead, the food may be good, and you can order it. If you do not speak Spanish, avoid this place like the plague as they will treat you like ****, and laugh in your face making comments in front of other customers and staff.
