Sogo Sushi - West Coxsackie

Sogo Sushi in Hope Plaza, West Coxsackie, NY, is a cozy bistro with typical Japanese decor. It used to be a dine-in restaurant but has switched to takeout only due to pandemic regulations. The shrimp tempura was overly heavy; the batter should have been lighter and crispier. The miso soup lacked flavor, and the spicy salmon roll, although fresh, was quite bland. This restaurant has potential, but it could greatly improve with a bit more effort and the addition of spices in its food preparation. The portion sizes were also on the small side.

The food here is wonderful and delicious, both the cooked dishes and the sushi. The staff is always friendly, pleasant, and efficient, providing great service. We feel fortunate to finally have such an amazing sushi restaurant in our area after many years without one.

Coxsackie is so fortunate to have this restaurant in town. Fast, fresh, friendly and top notch sushi. Just wish they were open on weekends.

It's not Sugarfish, but it's perfectly decent sushi for being in Coxsackie. The fish was a bit tough, but still enjoyable; I would recommend the rolls over the nigiri. The noodle dishes were good as well, though a tad salty. The staff was very friendly. Just a heads up: they are currently takeout only due to the pandemic.

Very nice people. Beautiful sushi and delicious. You won't be disappointed. Your eyes and your mouth will both be happy.
