Semi Permanent Ramen - Wellington

This ramen shop is fantastic and has an authentic feel. The rolls are absolutely amazing as well. The menu is diverse, and the friendly staff is very knowledgeable about the ingredients in each dish. The beer and bunge combo is excellent! The ingredients are a mix of Japanese and local varieties, all of which complement the ramen beautifully. Don’t be put off by the spicy items on the menu; they aren’t too spicy unless you specifically ask the cook to add fresh chilis. This is the perfect spot, especially on those less sunny and windy Wellington days.

I'm so glad they opened a branch in the CBD; now I can easily visit the ramen shop! I can't comment on the meat dishes or the authenticity of the crawfish, but the vegetarian ramen options are absolutely divine! The portion size is just right—enough to satisfy without feeling heavy. The broth is light yet incredibly flavorful, with a delightful umami boost from the pickled shiitake mushrooms.

The ramen here is visually appealing and offered in a variety of broths. We also enjoyed some nice side dishes. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly. The service was attentive, and the place was clean and well-organized. We tried the Tonkatsu wheels, tan-tan ramen, and takoyaki, all of which were excellent.

Fantastic and authentic Japanese looking rammen shop, great atmosphere and beautiful staff with a short and simple menu that covers all bases well. even my Fussy partner enjoyed it! so a great place in wellington and will go again when I am next time there.

The Ramen Shop in Wellington is an Institution for lovers of great fresh full flavor Ramen. Good Ramen is as much a meticulous science as it is a high artform. To guarantee quality and freshness accross either the Newtown or CBD sites, each noodle is painstakingly produced in house in the style of traditional chukamen, using only flour and alkaline water. Utterly delicious to the last drop.
