A blast from the past, last visited some 30 years ago. Staff were friendly, ale was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was very seasonally focused. A great little pub in a lovely little village. Price per person: £1–10 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The ambiance, decor, and friendly staff create a pleasant setting with a charming beer garden and an extensive drink selection. However, my experience with the Fish Chips left me somewhat disappointed. The dish arrived with an unusual presentation—a Jenga block of partially cooked chips—and the beer battered cod lacked flavor. The dessert, particularly the jug of custard, was comical, presented in the worlds smallest jug, which was quite disappointing. In pubs, patrons typically expect hearty, rustic fare with generous portions, and I found this aspect lacking. The others seemed to enjoy their meals more than me think I chose the short straw.
