Newfoundland's Own Fish & Chips

Took my boy after we finished a hot landscaping job, never tried this fish and chips spot before. The fish very very tasty. And big portions. Chips very fresh and big portions. In this kind of economy I’d return for 2nds.

Haven’t been here for years, so since I was at the nearby pharmacy to get a Covid shot, I thought I’d get lunch. Big mistake! Ordered the single fish and fries reasonably priced. Loads of fries mainly small pieces) and 3 small pieces of fish. If only it tasted better! All I could taste on the fish and fries was the oil everything tasted the same. Threw out most of it and the bag was soaked through in oil when I tossed it. Don’t waste your money on such poor fish and chips. The fish at Sue’s Seafood on Clare Avenue is 100% better.

Very small menu but good food and really good portions .Was disappointed that the tarter sauce comes in a packet and not homemade.

I have had the pleasure of grabbing the Fish CHIPS from this establishment many times, and I have enjoyed it. HOWEVER this time that I grabbed FISH CHIPS, I had a very bad experience. The FISH had about 1/4 inch of GUMMY DOUGH type rubberized substance enveloping it. Paul the owner wasn't in when I dropped by the next day, the person I asked about Pauls' whereabouts stated that, Paul wouldn't be around for a couple more days because he takes this time of year off! Well to say that I'm NOT IMPRESSED with the meal that I picked up, is putting it mildly, NEVER before have I ever gotten something like this from this establishment. Sadly it appears that when Paul isn't there, the FISH CHIPS are basically GARBAGE ! Maybe Paul the owner just needs to ensure that he hires COMPETENT WORKERS for when HE is not going to be around. As a repeat customer, I am sad to say that, I might NOT RETURN to this establishment due to the GARBAGE FISH CHIPS that I received when the OWNER wasn't there!

The absolute worse fish and chips I have ever had. Threw it in garbage This has absolutely nothing to do with Newfoundland fish Bad oil and there was no taste of fish
