The White Hart - Wealden

Had a fantastic meal celebrating my wife's 60th birthday. Made to feel welcome by staff, fabrastic large table in conservatory and beautifully prepared meal. Steak cooking perfect. Plenty of room for our large dog too. All in all a great place....also does brilliant Sunday roasts and worth a visit anytime.

What a beautiful place! My daughter and I, who were visiting from Wales, both enjoyed beautifully presented meals served by lovely, chatty, sociable and confident staff. The pub is olde worlde with a lovely menu which offers something for everyone. You will be guaranteed a warm welcome. relaxed ambience, good quality food and wine at fair prices. Would love to live nearer as we would be regulars.

Dropped in early doors on a long walk around the fabulous countryside that surround the area around Buxted. Unusually the sun was shining after all the rain through February and we just wanted a drink to quench our thirst and tea wasn’t gonna do that. Lovely barmaid made us very welcome, we sat by a huge sandstone fireplace which wasn’t lit thank goodness as we were warm enough. Loved the bookcase wallpaper along with the skeleton heads and antlers of deer hanging all over the walls and with sacking curtains it made the room really quirky. A Blackboard at one end of the seating area showing the different cuts of meat on the picture of a cow, love it. Best of all the lamp shade made of antlers…

Best Sunday lunch in East Sussex You can not go wrong eating here any day of the week, but the Sunday lunch is supreme. With melt in the mouth beef, gravy to drown in and fabulous service. It's a must !

Highly recommended by a friend, so we went to try it for Sunday lunch. Really great food, good portions, friendly staff/service. Appreciated extra veg instead of yorkshire puddings when we asked for it......and the extra gravy. Clean pub/restaurant area, and the toilets.......and appreciated that staff clean the tables well between guests. Only slight negative was the small latte at the end cost 4.20 plus an extra 80p for non dairy milk. But otherwise food was amazing and we'd definitely recommend and return.
