Moonrakers - Wealden

After a long walk from Eastbourne during the day, I had dinner at this restaurant. A large party was taking place in the main area, so we opted to sit in the room with the bar. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. The picture shows the steak, ale, and mushroom dish!

We were warmly greeted with a great variety of local gins. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. We would definitely come back.

The pub in the quaint village is delightful. When we visited for Sunday lunch, we were treated to the most delicious roast beef we've had in a while.

Took the time to pre book. Every Christmas Eve we spend in Alfriston village. We chose this beautiful little place because we wanted to support the guy. As normal for our pre Christmas drinks 19 people where in attendance. On arrival the owner made clear everything was going to be an issue or problem. After preparing the first round of drinks and audibly moaning about the effort it was taking to make our kids there requested (hot chocolates) I felt maybe I’d made a terrible mistake choosing this place. After our guest went up and ordered drinks he also returned to the table with similar experience. We left 3 hours early feeling very disappointed at what should have been a wonderful evening. We use this pub fairly regularly. But sad to say will not return to this rude man again. Should not be in hospitality industry with that attitude!

Very friendly pub with a mad dog called Tom. Roaring log fire and nice staff We called in for dinner, I had the lasagne which was very tasty and huge and my partner had the pie which was also very good. Great views from the beer garden at the back.
