Denmar Tavern - Wausau

This lovely little bar serves food at specific times and also features a pool table, dart board, and even a pinball machine.

The bar is a nice and quiet place with good food. The staff is very friendly.

I ordered a drink, asked how much it was when I got it. $7.25 is what they said. when I got the bill, it said it was $8.75 for a drink, much too expensive!

I went to the restaurant last night to have wings, but unfortunately, the quality was not the same as before. Instead of paying one dollar per wing, they told me it was now 1.75 per wing whether I wanted to dine in or take them home. The reason given was that the bartender claimed the wings were larger than usual, with each wing supposedly being almost half a pound. I went ahead and ordered my wings, but the customers sitting around me commented that they didn't seem any bigger, with some even being the standard size you would expect. When I got home and opened the container, I was disappointed to find that what they had said was true. I was underwhelmed, especially after taking out my digital scale and finding that my 3 wings were still under half a pound. I did the math and realized that at 1.75 per wing, the price per pound came out to be 12.25, which seemed steep. In comparison, I recalled a different restaurant that offered large smoked wings, with 6 pieces for $10 or 14 for a full order.

Feb 2022, wings sucks now… idk if the one who tend to it sucks or just hates us. I understand the price going up, but the taste to tumble like that. Extra crispy? more like extra burnt. Salty from over cooking it, hard and dry. Good memories to the wings i use to brag about to my friends, turns to ashes like the wings i got.Positive side, the bar still a fun and nice vibe to be at still. Still going to be there, for the beer, not for the wings anymore. 4* because it still is a decent bar in wausau. Would’ve been 5 if the wings or who ever made it, makes it the same as before.
