Los Cuates - Adams Morgan

My friend and I had lunch today at Los Cuates Cantina in Adam's Morgan. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We ordered the Guacamole Molcajete, Salmon Veracruz, and a few tacos to share. After a long wait, we received a plain dish that was supposed to be the Salmon Veracruz. The salmon was dry and overcooked with no flavor. The shrimp was also overcooked and they neglected to mention that there were no scallops. The vegetables were bland and lacking in flavor.

My experience at this restaurant was not great. Despite being the only customer, I faced some attitude from the staff. I asked to sit at a free table outside, but was initially told there were none available. Even after the table was reluctantly cleared for me, it was still dirty. The service was slow and unresponsive, as I had to wait 20 minutes just to place an order.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We ordered skinny margaritas, a cheese quesadilla, and pulled pork enchiladas. The waitress reacted negatively when we ordered two entrees for three people, even with a pitcher of margaritas. It took nearly 30 minutes to place our order, and over an hour to receive cold food. Before our order arrived, I had to ask the waitress (since she had not returned to the table) to bring us the check and not prepare the food. She mentioned there was a mistake.

Do not come to this location unless you want your card to be overcharged!! I dined here with my friend on a Friday night, paid the tab and left. When I checked my bank account afterwards, the amount I had paid at the restaurant was not reflected on my account, I was overcharged. So I reached out to the restaurant in hopes to fix the issue and received a message back from Mauricio. He seemed like he was going to help but after I provided him with the receipts he went

TLDR- super slow service for pretty average food and drinks. I would try someplace else if i were you. Stopped because we were in the area and mexican sounded good. Order drinks pretty quick but waited fifteen to twenty minutes for some glasses of water. Had to flag down the waitress to order food, which took a while to come out. And then the food was really nothing special, just average. My tamales had more corn meal than meat, and my husband's nachos were misleading with
