Amigos Mexican Grill - Wanaka

We have worked for several months in Wanaka and there are really not that many good vegan options around. One exception for us was Amigos with their amazing vegan tacos. Every Tuesday they have a Taco Tuesday event where they are discounted. They also have vegan quesadillas and burritos. When you go in, the staff asks if you have any dietary requirements, so they can give you a special menu where all the allergens are marked.

The food was good the soft tacos were okay but also not the most impressive I ever had

Vegan quesadillas were the highlight tasty bean filling with vegan cheese. Vegan fajitas also great mixture of broccoli, capsicum, onion and some other veg. Great to have a vegan sour cream offering. All portion sizes were very generous. Updated from previous review on 2023 08 20

Amazing in every way huge portions, vegan cheese, sour cream, and sauces, lots of vegan options, reasonably priced and lovely service.

Different coloured menu provided on entry for vegans still has all food options but staff will know to ask your requirements and can easily change any veg option to vegan
