The food was served relatively quickly, and everything was absolutely delicious, especially the crispy hush puppies and sweet potato waffles, which I thought were outstanding. The atmosphere was friendly, and the staff was very welcoming. Additionally, the prices for what we ordered were quite reasonable. Overall, it was a great experience in our book!
My husband and I were looking for a delicious and unique restaurant with healthier options on our way to Florida from Virginia. We took the exit 57 because it looked like there were many restaurants, so we thought we could see if we could find a nice place to try. In the Walmart parking lot pulled to raise our cards and look around us. We saw Fat Jack when we moved in. I barely looked at the menu before we decided this was the place to try. We sat immediately (on Thursday night at 7) and ordered our drinks and food quite fast. Didn't have to wait long and oh my goodness I wish I lived closer so I could try everything else. It was the hands down the best steak I ordered in a restaurant in years (please not be too hard when you order Steak and it is not the best steak ever when you try... everyone has good and bad days.... I was also very hungry when we stopped. my husband got the grilled scalops, collar, green beans and hushpuppies. I ordered my steak boiled medium (boiled perfectly, a sweet potato and fried Okra. EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS!!! And I also ordered 2 mixed drinks. They call Frozen Alligator and a Lava Flow. The Frozen Alligator was a surprisingly new and other drink I've never tried. The Lava Flow was also very delicious, but similar to drinks I had before, so the Frozen Alligator was my favorite!! My husband loved her classic margarita. Very happy we stopped here!! Our waitress was so sweet and funny to talk!! I wish I remembered her name. We talked about travels and their fun fishing trip in Florida. She was great! Recommend to all stop and try Fat Jacks!!
Since we were passing by, this was our first visit to Fat Jack. The service we received was good. I ordered the chicken pliers, which came with green beans and a baked sweet potato. Everything was served hot, which was nice. However, I felt that the chicken was slightly overcooked and there was more bread than I expected. While the food was tasty, that's just my personal opinion. My husband ordered the seafood pasta, which was described as being in garlic sauce. He was expecting a butter garlic sauce, but instead, it came in more of an Alfredo sauce. Although he didn't mind, the menu description could have been clearer. Overall, we had a pleasant experience with good service. Also, I really enjoyed the Koi pond outside!
The food portions were generous for the price, and the service was excellent. There’s plenty to enjoy for lunch. I’d like to mention that the picture does not accurately reflect my meal since I chose to have it without cheese and bacon.
Definately worth a visit. Very local, full bar and has been in this place for 20yrs+ . We showed up at 9 and they close at 10. We were seated promptly and our server was very polite and nice Ms. Skylar. I ordered Chicken tenders plate with coleslaw and potato salad. He ordered a philly cheesesteak with fries. I have to say they have the best ever slaw. It was done the right southern way as we're potato salad. Slaw was even served with crackers. Yep. Tenders could use a bit of flavor but they definately very freshly cooked. His philly was very tasty well be back. Rr could use a a bit of tlc and upkeep.
