Tonli Kitchen - Walnut Creek

After eating ramen at Tonli, it’s hard for me to like any other places. I would say one of the best ramen places in walnut creek/concord area. Rich, sticky creamy broth, well garnished and filling. Highly recommend

Quasi-japanese dishes in utilitarian space. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Kitchen a bit slow on a not very busy night. Food was tasty and not expensive although i do not know why the teriyaki bowl comes with salad greens? Worth more visits. Secod visit was a little disappointung. The curry chicken rice with roasted veggies was not done right so the carrits and potatoes were rubbery. As was the chicken. The curry sauce was overpowerungly salty and tasted more beefy than curry. Third visit was more successful with a delightful combination of vegetables, tofu, and rice. Bottom line is to order carefully.

I recently discovered a fantastic ramen spot right across from the Pleasant Hill BART Station, located in the Avalon Walnut Creek apartment complex on Treat Blvd. You have to try the Butter Garlic Ramen—it's a creamy, garlicky broth paired with generous slices of roasted pork belly, perfectly chewy ramen noodles, and a deliciously gooey soft-boiled egg. Keep in mind that this place gets quite busy during lunch hours on weekdays and after work. It’s also kid-friendly, with plenty of high chairs available, though the unisex restroom doesn’t have a diaper changing table. Parking is limited to street spaces. On the bright side, there’s an accessibility ramp inside the restaurant.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good this restaurant was. The ramen featured multiple layers of flavor, clearly the result of careful planning. The egg was cooked to perfection, with a deliciously runny yolk, and there was an abundance of toppings that complemented the bouncy noodles beautifully. The broth was rich and creamy, which might be a bit challenging for first-timers, but we truly enjoyed it.

I always order the spicy miso ramen with level 7 heat. This is my favorite ramen shop in the area, especially since it's hard to find good ramen here, so I'm really happy they do such a great job! Their spring rolls are also fantastic.
