My husband is still working on his veggie chow fun—there's so much food that it seems like he'll be at it for a while. It's almost noon, and the restaurant is quietly preparing for what I suspect will be a rush from the nearby industrial park. This place is a great little hole in the wall for a quick, inexpensive meal. I did deduct a point for their use of Styrofoam containers, even though we ate inside the restaurant.
Consistently excellent food—authentic Chinese cuisine.
Today, I ordered the Mochicko Chicken and Honey Walnut Shrimp Combo Plate Lunch. The Mochicko Chicken was pretty standard, but that’s not a bad thing; it was ample, about 1.5 to 2 cups worth. The shrimp dish came with six medium-sized shrimp, but I found the batter to be a bit too thick for my taste. I prefer it thin, as it tends to be crispier, and the thick batter made the shrimp feel a little mushy once coated in sauce. The meal was generous, including a scoop of macaroni salad and two scoops of rice, making for a completely filled plate. I couldn't finish it all, so I saved half for the next day.
My daughter found a big piece of plastic in her burger!
Eggplant is typically delicious, but this one was mushy. Make sure to check it off your list before you go!
