A-bay's Island Grill - WAIKOLOA

While we waited to sit inside, there was a sign indicating some moose décor, but we watched a group cut in line and take a table without waiting. When we brought this to the hostess's attention, she responded rudely, saying it didn’t matter because there were only a few tables available inside, as it was too hot to sit outside. She didn’t address the situation with the group at all. Feeling a bit frustrated, we decided to sit at the bar. There were boxes available for takeout, which was a nice option. Also, a note: if you pay with cash, there’s no credit card processing fee, but you have to ask for it to be removed. Aloha!

My wife and I enjoy dining at A-Bays Grill. Our top choices are the Eggs Benedict and Banana Pancakes. The service is excellent, and the outdoor seating is a nice touch. The food is truly delicious for the price!

A few nights later, we returned late, and this was the only place open after 9 PM. However, they stopped serving food during the happy hour (between dinner and late night). There was a bouncer on duty and karaoke, which made the waiting even more frustrating, as we had to wait until the late-night menu became available at 10 PM. Ultimately, we decided to just have peanut butter and jelly in our room instead. It’s not very family-friendly, but the drinks were great.

The proposal from friends was great. Prime location, by the sea, beautiful breeze and excellent food. The wife had lined Ahi Steak with potatoes and cream sauce. I grilled Ono on potatoes with spinach and a white wine sauce with capers. Service was good.

Went here for breakfast and was very pleased with all our choices. We ordered the Buttermilk pancakes, the Corned Beef Hash and the pork loco Moco. The pancakes were really big (Definitely two meals) and tasted really good with the coconut syrup. The pork from the loco Moco was very tasty and the gravy on top brought everything together nicely. If you dine outside watch out for the birds and the cat.
