Sam's Southern Eatery Wacotx

The catfish and shrimp were wonderful! The filets were nearly 12” in length. I’ve never had better hush puppies. We chose Mac n cheese and red beans and rice for sides; Yum! Of course I love the hot sauce on everything! The portions are more than we could eat. So, so good!

Ordered the fish po'boy and philly cheese steak. Both of the orders came with french fries. Very tasty, hot and fresh. We like this place. Tarter sauce was super yum.

Fantastic shrimps!!! Some of the last I had everywhere and cooked for perfection. This will be on my list when I'm in Waco.

It was my first time back after the remodeling was complete. I love Sam's and the remaining staff was and is awesome. I have been going to Sam's for about four years. When I ordered my usual and sat down to eat. I WAS HORRIFIED!!! What happened? They cut the portions and changed the type of fish they usually served. I am sadden that the quality was compromised, yet they went up in price. I get it! Changes are necessary, but the quality isn't there.

The red beans and rice were yumm! Def the best catfish I've had since I have gotten here. The Mac and cheese was a bit disappointing. My kid definitely enjoyed it as it was pretty creamy; however, for me, it lacked a bit. Lisa, the server, was friendly and attentive. Will Def go back to try the crabcakes. I would recommend this place if you are craving a whole catfish as I was! Definitely NEED to bring back the stuff shrimp listed on the outside. The prices, as you can see, are not bad either. PS: there is a drive thru option!
