フィードバックを提供するWe are often flyers on which no hot water plan at the Charley Creek Inn. No more excuse for it, and I'm tired of the lame excuses and shoulders that argue about the problem. A nice hotel that can't deliver hot water to your room because you didn't get up early enough is just wrong. This place is not cheap and guests deserve better. No more...
Beautifully restored hotel! Very interesting history! Reasonably priced! Service was excellent! We felt like we were at the Palmer House in Chicago! But only 50 mins from home not 3 hours! Looks like Wabash has some real gems we didn’t know about! We will definitely visit again!
I can't tell you how much I wanted to love this property. Easy to park, easy to check in. Wonderful lobby and atmosphere. Clean, classy and great service. They even gave me an opportunity for a free wine tasting at the wine store near lobby. There is also a candy shop and an amazing restaurant on site (I'll review separately, but loved it! . So, we checked into our room. Very clean, no musty smells, a few antique pieces and just the perfect size. The bed wasn't very supportive, but absolutely adequate and clean. Housekeeping even brought up extra pillows!! I had requested this online, but have never had staff remember to actually bring them at other properties. So we settled in, then went to dinner and a concert at the very nearby Honeywell Center. After a wonderful evening, went back to our room to relax. The Temperature was easy to adjust but there was no where close to the bed to plug in my phone to charge. Wifi was great too. Had a good sleep. We got up around 830 or so to get showered and ready to go to breakfast in the restaurant. My husband got out of the bathroom and said the shower didn't work. I went in...............NO HOT water, not even lukewarm. I could have possibly tolerated this at a paid camping site, but a $189 a night hotel?? NOPE. Remember those green gardening cans you watered your flowers with?? That had more pressure than the shower......................I told front desk at check out but they said nothing nor acted like this was even an issue. I wish I could say we will drive another 2.5 hours to see a show and stay at this hotel again, but cannot risk not being able to shower in a hotel in the morning. I will drive that far again for the honeywell center, that place is wonderful and trust me, worth it. I would love to return to this property if they can find a solution to the lack of pressure and hot water.............so sad. What potential this place has!!
$180 for one night and no hot water. I have waited 3 days for management to respond to both our survey and my email. My husband I were in town for a concert on Sept 11. We were initially very impressed with the hotel the staff. There was a beautiful jet tub that I was so excited to use after the concert. When we checked in, I noticed that there was little to no hot water when washing my hands. I dismissed it as I thought many people were checking in at that time. When we got back to our room at 11pm, I wanted to take a bath NO HOT WATER. We let it run for several minutes as I was determined to enjoy the tub. It was like sitting in rain water. We had to leave early the next day, and my husband went to take a shower- same thing. no hot water. We filled out the survey and mentioned this, and I also told the woman at the desk how unhappy we were. She was very dismissive and put all the blame on us. Why didn 't you call down? Well, because it was 11:30pm by then and we just wanted to go to sleep. You were on the 4th floor. All rooms on that floor share a hot water source. You shared with room 416. Maybe they used all the water REALLY?! So if one room wants to take a shower, the other room is just out of luck?! This is a green hotel Excuse, Excuse, Excuse. We paid $180 for what was about a 17 hour stay. Unable to take a shower. There was no offer of any compensation whatsoever. We drive 4 hours from Ohio to Wabash at least twice a year to attend shows at the Honeywell. This was our first, and probably last time at Charley Creek. They obviously care more about appearances than they do taking care of customers. I have worked for a major insurance carrier for 20 years and I know what good customer service is all about. Charley Creek does not.
I found this wonderful hotel while searching on the Landmarks Indiana Website. I surprised my husband, for father's Day, by booking a suite at Charley Creek Inn. The hotel is located in Wabash Indiana, which is only an hour and a half from Indianapolis as well as Chicago. The lobby is an art nouveau restoration and offers a beautiful welcoming to the hotel. All the hotel rooms are named after various VIPs or historical sites and each room has a different interior. We stayed in the Wabash/Erie Canal room #405. This room was very elegant and was furnished with period antiques. It was very spacious and comfortable. The bed was extraordinarily comfortable! The room offered the typical hotel amenities and everything was very clean. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was average. I had the shrimp scampi and my husband had the chicken schnitzel. Our server, Cass, was excellent! The downtown area is still developing but it did offer a few very nice shops. My personal favorite was TinyThreads, a children's store boutique. Wabash has a variety of architecturally historical homes in the downtown area and there is also the historic Roann Covered Bridge. An absolute must see! Landmarks is assisting with limited renovations of six homes within the area and then they will be available for sale. Up the street from the Roann Covered Bridge is a wonderful, reasonably priced antique store, Log Cabin Antiques and a very cute, hometown pizza parlor! The owners of both establishments are worth the visit in themselves. Downtown Wabash and Charley Creek Inn are a great getaway from home.
