Masia La Figuera

Masia La Figuera is a restaurant located in the surroundings of Vilanova i la Geltrú, a fisher city 50km far from Barcelona. We came here after doing an excursion in Natural Park of Garraf. We shared patatas braves and some drinks in the terrace. Good, not more. A bit expensive.

We went there one year ago for the typical calçotada, it was good all in all so we booked again for this year . We were 8 people and when we called the same day to confirm the number of people they answered saying that they were closed!!! They claim they had tried to call us to warn us but they didn’t ... we were lucky to find another restaurant the same day!!! I won’t go there again!!

It is very unlikely that you will stumble upon this place, unless you 're a runner and happen to scout this area of Vilanova. The restaurant is in the outskirts of the town in what one might call suburbs , although this is probably too nice a term. The place itself also might not look as friendly in the beginning as it really is. Once you dare to sit down, though, you will be quite pleasantly surprised. The food is freshly made and quite good expect traditional local cooking with fish caught the same day on the beach. We had a lovely family meal for an extremely reasonable price. The house wine is pretty bad, so you might want to consider upgrading that. It 's a short drive from town and a short walk from the camping grounds should you be hosted there. Perhaps the restaurant doesn 't quite make it to the category of secret tips , but it is definitely worth a visit.
