フィードバックを提供するWe came here because we want to eat authentic Italian food. And was what they gave us. The menu has enough varial choices and all courses were served very nice. We were satisfied about the food. We were very happy with the atmosphere in the restaurant. It is a nice authentic building. Little point of criticisme is that the meat was a bit dry from both of us. The prices is good. Be prepared that the English of the owner is not good and that makes it some more complicated for choosing your menu but they are very friendly and fast.
Unfortunately I do not have the chance to pass by the little lovely Verzegnis as soon as I would like to, however I do stop by whenever i can: either for lunch, dinner or simply to have something to drink. The 'Antica Osteria Stella d 'Oro ' is basically structured in three main areas. The first one could be considered the one outside: wheather permitting it 's nice and chilling being able to be sit outside right in front of the bell tower. The second one is just at the main entrance. You will find the counter on your right side, while some tables on the left one. Then, looking deeply on Your left You will find the the traditional and perfectly kept 'fogolar ' room. Still on the left there 's a door that leads You to the real and proper dining hall. Furninshings are simple, trying to respect and reflect the local tradition. For lunch, You could simply choose between a la carte menu or the menu of the day at a very convenient fixed cost An average of 10 Eur, depending on how many courses You intend to have! If you whish something a little bit more pretending and refined, you should opt for the a la carte menu. i guess dinner time is a la carte only. They do not have a very wide chioce ...and for me this is a plus because everything is fresh and in this case also of quality , but they offer a variety that might suit a wide range of palates. The dishes proposed are the ones of the area, some of them delicately revisited. Service is really good, accurate, not intrusive, not too slow and not too fast! Pleasant wine choice and You should also ask ti visit their wine cellar. The only downside is the menu: they simply tell You verbally their suggestions ..therefore You do not have so much time to think over it. Also prices are not shown, even if they are good and fair. It 's alright either in couple, with the family, with friends or groups and solo. At the bar You should also ask to have a look at the specialities coming from the Azienda Agricola Fratelli Marzona, based on honey and beehive related products ...don 't miss the honey grappa! Will be back ...as ususal! :
This is an excellent family owned restaurant to taste the authentic meals of Carnia, a northern area of Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The location is pleasant and nearby the Art Park. The building is an historic site and ambience is rustic and charming. There 's an amazing fireplace-room, one of the few examples left of hood-ceiling. Seats are around the fire, according to the fogolar (local fireplace tradition. Meals are excellent, all hand made using the local products and many ingredients come from the nearby family farm, while the recipes remark the local tradition. Menu is seasonal, following what the harvest has to offer. Starters are intriguing, we liked the pumpkin cake and the mountain radicchio (very rare to find and only wild salad. The first courses are excellent. Traditional Cjarsons (ravioli type pasta filled with herbs and spices, however it varies in the different valleys of Carnia are a must, but partridge ravioli and homemade pasta blecs with boar sauce are really special. We are not much of meat lovers so we preferred going for the very good cheese selection and another starter as second course. Cakes are delicious, we would return just for the tasty chocolate cake (crusty on the outside and creamy in the inside!!! ! They have a good selection of grappas and many home made spirits. Prices are fair, service is appropriate and sober. We definitely recommend Stella D 'Oro in Villa di Verzegnis and we wish to return soon.
Excellent choice of local food, good choice of wines, very competent the waitress who served us with careful explanation of the dishes, . really recommended
Elegant and refined simplicity, true tastes of tradition, kind welcome: I found all this at the Ancient Golden Star Osteria. The essence of the room is to prepare everything with care and undoubted passion by rediscovering the authentic flavors of the past. The only aspect that I do not share, but it is my personal opinion, is the presence of fish dishes in the menu (such as the polyp among the appetizers), in a context, Carnia, which has a wonderful culinary tradition to carry on, but which exulates widely from sea dishes.
