Starbucks - Versailles

After taking the train from Paris city over to Versailles when you exit onto the street, look straight ahead and there lies this Starbucks. The baristas were very welcoming and all the drinks were carefully but quickly prepared. There was both indoor and outdoor seating and a clean restroom. The pastry offerings were varied with something to satisfy anyone's cravings. The coffee drinks were available in small, medium, or large and ranged in cost from €3-5.

We stopped here for some cappuccinos and I've got to say the pastries were out of this world. I was expecting the typical Starbucks taste but I was pleasantly surprised.

Well it's very important to note this : if you're coming from Paris, you will not be able to have breakfast in your hotel since you'll simply be late to Versailles and will be standing in long lines. If you get to Versailles and THINK that you have plenty of time to have breakfast well you would be mistaken since the sooner you arrive to the castle the happier you will be due to lines forming very early on. The last resort is a quick coffee and croissant/ muffin at Starbucks, 2 minutes away from the castle and just outside the station. You can not go wrong here.

Unsure if it was the "Paris water" though an Americano from this Starbucks tasted awful - thankfully they did change to be a Filter coffee that was better - and there were no issues with the change, though left a bad taste in the mouth.Location is great, visible from the station as you get off the train from central Paris, and thus a good stopoff before taking the train back into the city.Staff were OK... everything else was pretty much standard-fare.. nothing special.., so I hope this drink was a one off occurrence.

Typical Starbucks.... a welcome haven in just about every country and city. So good to know what you can rely on and Starbucks never failed to deliver good coffee and excellent service
