A&W Restaurant - Vernon

Ok, the caraway bun was a nice touch, but the patty was a little undercooked, and the whole sandwich fell apart about three quarters of the way through. For a "deluxe" burger, it oddly only had about a quarter slice of tomato in it. Cant say that I really enjoyed the 'cheese sauce', would have liked cheese with a little more texture. Still, its a step in the right direction. They should seriously research the original Burger King veggie burger from the early 90s... Now that was a true classic!

Been here a couple of times, food has been terrible. Not the greatest service, slow and can't get a takeout order right. Watered down undrinkable pop, tastes like some kind of chemical cleaner, burgers and wraps were badly put together they looked like they were drop on the floor and stepped on.

This particular outlet has really taken a&dubs to a new height. Despite being short staffed with a drive thru line stretching half down the block, they managed to provide courteous and extremely fast service in the restaurant. And to top it off, maybe the most perfect Teenburger I've Ever had ...

For over 50 years I have enjoyed the A & W's take on the Canada's version of the ubiquitous hamburger. If I were a betting man, I must have enjoyed thousands of the various versions offered Canada wide. No beef with the beef, just the service. The counter sports a gaggle of staff, but the line-ups are long and the service is sub par. The food is served hot and as fresh as can be expected given the basically frozen food supply. The drive through at A & Ws, at least in the Okanagan region are plagued with the constant questioning of customers regarding if they wish to have cheese, french fries, root beer or some other option added to their order. I suppose "head office" is behind the constant barrage of questions after a order has been submitted at the speaker order station, but really, what other decent restaurant goes on and on trying to upset their customers at each opportunity?

I find A&W's to be my least favorite fast-food chain anyway as I find it overpriced for the poor quality you get, but this location ranks among the worst. The place is hardly spotlessly clean, it's underlit to the point of being dark, the service can take centuries, and it seems to be a hangout for every drifter and hobo who comes to Vernon for the summer to hang out in the thriving bum hamlets under trees at Polson Park across the street. Much better choices in town than this sad and depressing place.
