フィードバックを提供するI recently attended my daughter and her fiancé 's rehearsal dinner at the Mason Jar. The staff were beyond excellent and professional. Joanne, a manager, was so accommodating to all of the guests. She was non-stop, in constant motion, as she went from table to table, offering her services. Joanne made sure that every guest was satisfied and comfortable during this important celebration. The food was served buffet style. The couple was gluten free, so cauliflower casserole and eggplant parm were served along with delicious chicken and baked salmon. Every dish was fantastic. Thanks to Mason Jar and devoted employee Joanne, it was a beautiful night to remember.
Was looking forward to trying this new transformation of an old favorite. Nice update and glad that seating is not overly crowded. Unfortunately, food did not deliver to the hype. Sliders arrived cold (basically a frozen white castle burger). French onion soup was extremely salty and the bread pudding was burnt on the bottom and dry. Over priced and poor quality of food. Waitress was ok, but seemed as if she would have rather been anywhere else. May try for a fish fry, but definitely not worth the hype. Disappointed!
I had pretty high hopes for this place, as there seemed to be a bit of buzz about it with the re opening. I was hoping to get some a hearty breakfast, at a decent price, without the drive to New Hartford or beyond. However, both of my visits have not been an overly enjoyable experience. The first visit was when The Mason Jar first reopened and was quite busy. As such, there was limited interaction with the waitress and wishes were not very quickly fulfilled. This led to food not only taking a great deal of time to arrive after ordering, but one meal was so cold from sitting that it was inedible. The rest of the food was OK at best. The second experience was much more laid back, with food arriving promptly and not too much traffic until the end of the visit. Though this went much more smoothly, there were some major flaws that have led me to likely never return; the food wasn 't great, and was over priced. I got the biscuits and gravy for $8.99 which, surprisingly, came with no eggs or other sides at all. I ordered 2 eggs, over medium with it. When it arrived, I was underwhelmed by the serving size. I 'm not a huge person, but I like to eat. This was about one country style (medium small) biscuit, cut in half with some sausage gravy over it; on top of which I had to pay an extra $2.99 for any eggs. My wife got one of the MJ Tot bowls . I can see the allure, as well as the desire to want to like this meal, but this was so heavy and filling that it was hardly enjoyable. These meals have the most potential that I 've seen, but are really mostly fluff with the tater tots and waffles. Overview/TLDR: 1. Food is sub par 4/10 2. Service is not great 5/10 3. Overpriced for portions/quality 4. Won 't be going back
We were so excited to finally get dinner at the Mason Jar. We were seated and I noticed that the water glass I had lipstick on it. Our nachos were very good, the dinners were okay but not awesome. We did receive two more glasses with lipstick on them. After we left within 10 minutes we all had stomach pains.
Just had the absolute WORST experience at the Mason Jar. I was excited to go there for brunch with my husband today after having great experiences in the past at this restaurant. Today I ordered the Jarhead and was presented with black/burnt hashbrowns, rock hard and extremely dry waffles that I could barely cut through, and hot chocolate that was basically just pure water. It was just absolutely awful. My waitress was friendly, but when I asked to speak with a manager to see if they would be able to make it right, the manager Dave, came to my table with a bad attitude and after I expressed my concern about my meal he said okay cool he took my plate and said have a nice day. I was hoping to see if they would at least give me a plate of food that was edible... but he was not accommodating at all but acted rather insulted that I was pointing out the flaws in the food they are serving to paying customers.... A few minutes after Dave was nonaccomodating, rude and unconcerned, he actually came back to my table to tell me that he ate my food that I sent back and that it was fine and that everyone else likes what they serve and that I just must have a different taste. I have never been spoken to like this before by a manager before and I am very disappointed in this awful service and will most likely never come back.
