I visited this restaurant specifically for the poutine with burnt ends, and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Starting off with a $5 draft beer, which was refreshing on a hot day, I had no idea what was in store for me.
This restaurant blew me away. The food was absolutely amazing. We decided to try a bit of everything, including the brisket slider, fried Mac and cheese, and, of course...
We had visited Blackstrap BBQ on a visit last year, so when deciding where to eat in Montreal during this visit, this was on the top of our list. Since we had last been there, they have expanded into the next bay of the building...with a number of sit-down tables, whereas previously they only had two picnic-style tables indoors and a couple outside near the entrance on Wellington St. Previously, they had some combo meals where you would get 2 or 3 meats and sides all included but they recently changed their menu, now you order each meat and side individually. There were four of us, however we knew their servings were fairly large so we ordered 3 meats (brisket, smoked turkey, and pork ribs) and 3 sided (bean salad, coleslaw and BBQ mushrooms). Everything was delicious, particularly the mushrooms and the turkey. The brisket was very tender (we ordered fatty, you can also ask for lean). There was plenty of food for all of us, but we did manage to eat it all so nothing to take home. We fed 4 adults with great food (including 3 soft drinks) for about $75 (before tip). We would definitely go our of our way to visit Blackstrap BBQ on a future visit.
If they want to spend their money on tasteless food and give out zero customer service and do as a fool, eat all wise here. our whole party was mad. does the personal and mgmt laugh about the customers?
