La Parrilla - Ventura

So much flavor! All staff appeared to be happy and all guests seemed to be well taken care of. When we eventually make it back out this way again we will definitely be stopping in at LA Parrilla!

We ordered a dozen of each flavor of Tamales for Christmas Eve dinner and all 3 flavors were delicious, The ratio of masa to meat was perfect. The filings were hardy and had a great flavor. I appreciated the tamale wrappers used because they were labeled so our guests did not have to touch each one to figure out the flavor. The staff were so kind and efficient also. I look forward to trying more menu items in the future,

Great family owned restaurant with a wide variety of delicious food at very reasonable prices and amazing service, as well. Highly recommend.

Their 'Cochinita Pibil Taco' ($4.00) is the kind of taco that allows you to forget life’s troubles for a few moments and proves that La Parrilla is the real deal. The silky cochinita pibil guisado practically melts in your mouth, with tender chunks of pork that cling to buttery pieces of fat, all enveloped in a recaudo rojo that strikes a perfect balance between warm chilis and a pleasant citrus tang. The white corn tortilla (which can be upgraded to a handmade version for an extra cost) cradles its delicious filling, steaming from the rich stew inside, and is then topped with pickled onions and crumbled queso, inviting you to use a spoon and knife for your enjoyment. Pour on some of La Parrilla's exquisite, savory pink salsa, and be prepared for some serious flavor. You might also want to try La Parrilla's take on the 'Baja-Style Fish Taco' ($4.95). Here, a generously sized flaky white fish fillet is encrusted in a perfectly crunchy golden batter and topped with pico de gallo, sliced avocado, bitter strips of red and white cabbage, and a zesty chile cream sauce. The lightly grilled tortilla is sturdy enough to hold all of this taco’s abundant toppings together for a delicious bite.

I would have given this place 5 stars if the coffee hadn't been cold. However, everything else was great! The food was very tasty, and I will definitely return. They have a large menu with very reasonable prices.
