Il Bucaniere - VENTIMIGLIA

We had lunch at this family run restaurant as walk-in guests. The couple who run the place wholeheartedly welcomed us and helped with the selection of menu. We had their house special pizza and sword fish fried with tomato gravy on top. Literally a treat to eat at this place! The owner is the cook and he takes special effort to find out the guests’ preferences before preparing the dish. His wife serves the food and looks into guests’ needs with lot of care. A fantastic dining experience!

My daughter and I quite randomly stumbled upon Il Bucaniere while wandering the streets of Ventimiglia Alta. We could not have been happier. The gentlemen there fed us well, and made us feel right at home. They were also very kind in speaking English to us, and in giving us spot-on directions back to the Ventimiglia train station. Everything was absolutely delicious and perfect. The prices are reasonable. Our thanks to the Il Bucaniere staff for such a memorable evening!

One of our favorite restaurants ever! This beautiful family run restaurant only a 2-minute walk from the Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta has delicious pasta, pizza and other Italian food at great prices. Only opened 6 months ago and that's why there's not many reviews. Very friendly and welcoming owner/chef and staff, especially the lovely lady who is the main hostess. The new interior is modern and sleek but still has the warm inviting feeling. We've had dinner there twice now and the food and the service was great each time. They open at 6:30pm for dinner which is earlier than most other Italian restaurants, and it helps for us to catch the train back home. We live in Nice and it's an hour train ride to go there. If it was closer, we would be eating there once a week.

New to Ventimiglia Alta .... good good, decent price and friendly service. I can highly recommend the pork!

The food, the people, the quality and the hospitality were outstanding. The place was charming and stylish and the staff were so friendly and even offered us a complimentary starter. I love this village and this restaurant and definitely recommend if you’re looking for genuine authenticity of Italian culture
