Trattoria Corte Sconta - VENEZIA

In uno dei quartieri più importanti di Venezia, questo locale storico e le sue rinnovate caratteristiche di ospitalità lagunare, ci rimarrà nella memoria dei nostri viaggi migliori. Piatti di ottimo livello e vini di grande valore hanno contribuito molto, ma creare un clima diverso dal solito è stato il servizio e la simpatia di Marco e del suo primo collaboratore, che hanno condiviso con noi passione per i vini e la conoscenza comune di persone nel settore. Serata stupenda per chi come noi cerca dialogo e scoperta di valori ed esperienze altrui.

Locale storico, ci abbiamo dovuto fare la corte per riuscire ad avere un tavolo. Sempre pieno e cibo buono. Ma la fama supera la sostanza. Buono ma non eccellente e prezzi abbastanza alti.

We had a decent but not good dinner. The outdoor terrace was nice and the staff was friendly. The food was nicely served, but every dish was surprisingly bland tasting. We had other meals in Venice that were much better tasting.

Declining food quality but still good service Having enjoyed many lunches and dinners at Corte Sconta over the past 20 years, I was quite disappointed by the quality of the food. While always fairly expensive, the quality and freshness of the fish/shellfish had been very high and occasionally outstanding. Unfortunately, that appears to be no longer the case. The fish was tired and mediocre. The clams, squid, fritte misto very blah. Selection was limited. Even the bread, which had been house prepared, was now tasteless and boring. Too bad. It was one of my favorite restaurants not just in Venice but in general. That being said, the service was good. Decent buzz around the place. Perhaps riding on their reputation as a source of outstanding food. I will not be returning. There are many other outstanding restaurants in Venice. RIP
