One has fruits, the other one has the usual decor of flowers for a birthday and with enough space for the happy bday greeting. Just like my first review, the cake is really sweet!! When I tasted it, I decided to remove all the frosting on top, if that's what they call it, and even the flowers because I can't take the sweetness. The cake is just like pure sugar. There's nothing you can taste aside from sweetness. They need to reinvent their products. There's a lot of better bakeries than this one for sure.
I went here upon the recommendation of my boss. She said this place is the direct competitor of Tim Hortons. True enough, this bakery sells apple fritters, long john, eclairs, etc, the same donuts you will find in Tims. This bakery carries loaves of bread, cookies, cakes, cupcakes and some refreshments too. I just tried the mini cupcake in an ice cream cone. It was delightful to looked at but too sweet! I got a sore throat the day after. I can only taste sugar in this cupcake.no other flavour.store was packed when I came here by the way so I can say that this bakery is a sure hit.
This bakery is well known in the area. People come from Prince George and outlying areas to get their fix of quality baked good at Woody's.
I am stunned that this outstanding bakery has not been reviewed. i found it on the recommendation of the owners of the 'Last Truck Stop'--a pop up take-out cafe further West on the Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16). I was lamenting the lack of savoury options at roadside food stops. Specifically, I was interested in sausage rolls, meat pies, pastries etc. One of my companions told me that those were Australian and New Zealand snacks and that I was in Canada! But at Woody's they had them all. Furthermore, the 'Australian' steak, cheese, and bacon pie I bought was without doubt the very best gourmet meat pie I have tasted in either Australia or NZ for a very long time. Woody's also had chicken and vegetarian pastry rolls, samosas, Cornish pastries, and other savoury delights. The chicken roll was nice and spicy. For more traditional North American travellers, Woody's has plenty of sweet choices. The other baked items also looked great. Prices were very reasonable. For Antipodeans, Woody's is an absolute gem! I'd love to return.
I stumbled upon this restaurant and it was a fantastic discovery! The Szechuan dishes were delicious. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp & Walnuts while my husband tried the Salt & Pepper Chicken.
