I called my order in and it was the best pizza we have had from any other place in years. It was cooked thoroughly perfect. Ours was a combo that was ready in ten minutes!Food: 5/5
Objectively the best pizza in the region. Our go-to for years has been pepperoni and pineapple. We seldom stray. Today, we tried the new Cup-N-Char Sausage. Fantastically balanced flavor and the sausage was delightfully delicate. Most pleasant was the variation in texture! The cup melts in your mouth. Then, BAM! The charred rim of the sausage cup sneaks in a surprisingly enjoyable twist. We may have a new staple. Next time we will try adding pineapple to the cup-n-char and see what happens… well done Champ!
Update: a full refund was issued by management before review was posted however reviewer was unaware of the refund being issued.I suppose the old adage “the customer is always right” doesn’t seem to apply here, at least not at this location anyway. We ordered a half Hawaiian/half pep from here as well as a side of breadsticks. Total after tax, delivery fees, and tip came to in the mid 40’s. The Hawaiian was for the kids. The pep side was decent enough if not mid. The Hawaiian instead wasn’t what we were expecting with giant strips of what they and their menu describe as “premium” smoked ham although it’s described on the google menu and by the manager herself later on as bacon. In reality, what was on the pizza was severely undercooked, limp bacon that looked like a hospital visit waiting to happen. I was prepared to let it go as I and the kids were happy enough with the other side. My wife called for either a replacement with regular Canadian bacon or a full refund. We were offered neither as the kid on the other end of the line defended his uncooked slop. The call ended with no resolution besides emailing the company on their website and waiting for a reply that in all likelihood probably wouldn’t come. In response to the employee’s terse treatment of my wife and total laissez faire attitude about the situation at large, I went down there with the pizza in hand as proof of its at least half inedible state. The same employee greeted me coldly upon arrival, knowing that this wasn’t going away. He gave me the same line as he lazily handed my wife and said the manager wasn’t in. I said I’d wait for her and he sneered and mockingly chuckled at the idea of me waiting around for her. Luckily I didn’t have to wait long, although the same employee, Ryan I think, demanded I back away from the counter, not-so-subtly implying ill intention on my part. The manager arrived after only a five minute wait and was just as rude, if not more so, than Ryan. She defended the pizza and refused to budge after a clear headed laying out of grievances about the Hawaiian side of the pizza. Meanwhile, Ryan was working within earshot during the entirety of the exchange with a suppressed grin on his face, seemingly enjoying every minute of it. At long last, I told the manager that what I wanted was a Hawaiian with regular Canadian bacon instead of the raw bacon strips as previously described. She reluctantly relented to making us another Hawaiian/pep pizza with what she described as the “shitty toppings” instead of the “premium toppings.” She yelled this out to her underlings several times and I took this as a sign that this place has gone way downhill and neither I, nor anyone I know, will ever be coming back. I took the replacement pizza from Ryan who then had a “now get the f out of here” look on his face and found a homeless group of people to give it to in hazel dell. They were much nicer than the mongrel horde that comprise the salmon creek Champs Pizza. I’d recommend Dough Boys around the way or Bortolami's Pizzeria in hazel dell if you’re looking to go local on pizza. Also highly recommend Blind Onion. Otherwise, Round Table is right around the corner and I bet they have a much better customer service record than the circus I just described. Oh, and the breadsticks were mid as well.
I would give a five star and would be more if I could. At first I can say I was disappointed but after talking to the owner of champs felt like he really does care. I feel that he has went above and beyond to take care of us. THANK YOU! You guys rock!
