Summit Grill - Valemount

After having been to some of the more touristy places we came to Valemount. Prices are a bit lower than Jasper and Banff, but the food was great and the service came with a big friendly smile.You can choose different portion sizes of almost all the choises from the menu, and even though we had the smaller sizes and a dessert to share, we felt very full afterwards.The food was very tasty and we would definitely come back if we are ever in town again.

Very convenient because we were staying in the Best Western (see separate review). But we knew from a previous trip that they could not accommodate Barb's pepper allergy so we did not even try the first evening. But we figured surely breakfast would be safe. Oops! Virtually everything comes with home fries. And the home fries are seasoned with, among other things, black pepper. They said they would do some for her with no pepper but when they came, they had the normal seasoning. My food was good but the mixup was disappointing.

Great restaurant, the service was slow but the food was worth it. We went for dinner. I had their grilled vegetable and gouda sandwich (with mozzarella instead of gouda) and it was so delicious. The staff was friendly, prices were average and dessert was awesome.

Located adjacent to the Best Western, this restaurant opens at 6.30am and offers good, hearty, reasonably priced breakfast.

Had dinner twice and breakfast once while staying in the hotel both to and from Edmonton. Great selection of menu items (especially for kids), portions are large. I really liked they had a "lighter fare" portion for breakfast as I cannot usually finish the regular size portion of bacon and eggs. If you can't finish your meal and you are staying at the hotel, take it "to go" as they provide microwaves in your room and you can heat it up for later!
