Costas Coffee - Vale of White Horse

We were looking for a place to have a hot drink,we were passing McDonald’s just up the road but then it was too late but we happened to stumble upon here and this was great and in the perfect location so we popped in.Staff were very friendly and looked very clean.

Not sure where to start as the experience was horrendous. Very slow service, we were served our coffee in a dirty cup it looked like it hadn’t been washed when we mentioned this to the barista she looked vacantly at us, took the cup with a tut and replaced it, no apology given. We took our tray to the table, no napkins, I went back to ask for some, I was greeted with another tut and they were heavily handedly put down on the counter. We were meeting friends who had traveled some way so got them a coffee which was served in take away cups as they had no clean cups, this was 10.30am! No reduction in the price. The service was slow, staff rude one member of staff in particular needs immediate training in costumer service, dirty, as tables had not been cleared. Would definitely not recommend,

Dont visit this Costa, go next door to McD's for a coffee or even take the time to go to starbucks up the road, trust me it's better than here.

I usually limit myself to one cup of coffee a day, and until recently, I trusted Costa to make that one coffee special. However, after experiencing a series of disappointing cappuccinos in the past few days, I am starting to doubt that decision. The coffee tastes burnt and bitter, and not even the chocolate sprinkles on top can redeem it. The staff are friendly, but unfortunately, the coffee falls short.

Went in with my wife and young son and noticed a very quiet and slightly odd atmosphere. Just two couples sitting quietly but a small group of teenagers were wandering around as though it was their private space. Staff and coffee fine. But it appears to have been selected by a small gang of threatening teenagers as their base (they didn’t appear to have purchased anything. Their phones were on charge and they’d taken over a messy looking alcove as their own, but wandered about the whole place calling across the room as though it was their own private space. They shoved past us as we left the counter, then stared at us and began to make antagonistic comments as though they wanted to cause some kind of confrontation. Sat quietly chatting as a family. Then they started throwing rubbish at us clearly trying to hit our son. My wife politely asked them to stop but was met with a threatening response. Stayed calm and left, only to have them follow us out and threaten to stamp on our F___ing heads. We drove away as they threw things at our car. Really very scary! Staff seemed totally oblivious, but you can’t blame them for not confronting a group like that. Police called once we got home safe and the adrenaline had settled, but it sounded like they weren’t going to visit there. Needless to say, we won’t ever go there again. Costa need to get a hold of the situation for the sake of the safety of both their customers and their staff (we have contacted Costa). We’d advise you to keep away (particularly Saturday tea time) for your own safety.
