Best Barbeque - Urbandale

Tried this place for the first time last week. Everything we tried tasted great. All very flavorful. Make sure to try all the sauces. We'll be back to try some of the other stuff on the menu we didn't get to.

ShortE's deserves more praise as it could easily count among the top BBQ connections in the country. Your brisket is definitely tied for the first like the best I had, it has a rich savory pfeffery smokey bark that I loved. Your selection of sauces was great, but Texas was best on Brisket! Their colossal sandwiches are massive, come hungry or ready not to finish it. I tried other local BBQ joints in Des Moines, but ShortE's definitely takes the top!

Not sure how I've never been to this place, but it was fabulous!! Best grill in the Des Moines hands down. Brisket was absolutely delicious!! The staff is great and super friendly! Recommend the loaded baked potato! Would give this place 10 stars if possible.

My new favorite place for BBQ! I tried the Texas Club, which was loaded with smoked brisket, pork, ham, and bacon. It's hands down the best BBQ sandwich I've had in ages from any local spot. For my side, I went with the Loaded Potato Bake, and it didn't disappoint—very flavorful and creamy; it was definitely the right choice. Each type of meat was delicious on its own, but together they created an amazing combination. My wife ordered the smoked turkey along with the broccoli salad for her side, and I got to try both—they were excellent. I was tempted to order one of the sandwiches with smoked sausage, but I've often found BBQ sausage to be hit or miss. I asked our server for her opinion, and she was kind enough to bring me a sample. After trying it, I will definitely be ordering something with sausage on my next visit!

Wow! The brisket was incredibly tender and flavorful. The burnt ends came highly recommended, and I can see why. The seasoned fries and Spicy Cheesy Corn were also delicious. The real surprise was the cornbread—when I drizzled some honey on it, it was out of this world! I definitely recommend stopping by if you're in town. My friend ordered the brisket and smoked turkey, and everything was just perfect!
