There aren't many restaurants open on a Tuesday night for dinner, so we decided to try out the pub. We had seen live music advertised, "Tuesday Blues," so we thought that would be a nice addition. Unfortunately, there was no live music playing. We ordered the Wagyu steak and the lamb rack. We weren't expecting fine dining at a pub, but while the lamb was tasty, the Wagyu steak didn't seem worth the price. The staff were friendly and the kitchen was efficient, serving our food in a timely manner. If you're feeling lazy and don't want to cook, this place is worth a try. It wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't anything special.
My partner had the fish, which was overcooked and dry. The vegetables were also overcooked and mushy. We were very disappointed with the quality of the food and service this time around. We will not be returning.
Stayed next door to this pub for a week and ate here three times. Staff are exceptionally personable and ready with a smile which is not overly prevalent these days. Don't miss Happy Hour from 4 to 6pm when a pint of Guinness is a mere $7.20. Daily food specials are great especially the beef and Guinness pie. Wish I had a pub like this near my place in Melbourne.
My husband and a few friends visit Hoolahans every 2 - 3 weeks for a catch up and love it, wives take turns delivering and collecting them, and they usually sing Irish songs on the way home. They love it!!!
