I recently enjoyed an excellent takeout dinner from this restaurant, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. With a price range of $20–30 per person, it was well worth it! **Food:** ★★★★★ Everything we ordered was delicious! The Ravioli Marinara and Meatballs were particularly flavorful, and the Picca's Square Pizza was a delightful treat. Don’t skip the Cannoli for dessert, as it was a perfect sweet ending. The Mozzarella Sticks were a great appetizer, perfectly crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. **Service:** ★★★★★ The service was outstanding. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a smooth takeout experience. **Atmosphere:** ★★★★★ Although I opted for takeout, I could tell that the restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a great place to dine in with family or friends. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for a fantastic meal!
Some may be disappointed that a choice of soup or salad is no longer included with an entrée, but since their soup options usually consist of escarole and clam chowder—and I'm not a fan of basic salads—I’m perfectly fine with it. I do miss their Caprese salad, which seems to be off the menu now, even though it sometimes arrived a bit too cold, possibly from being pre-made. The balsamic vinaigrette drizzled on it was delightful, with a wonderful fruity flavor. I have to admit that neither my husband nor I have tried anything other than pasta for our entrées. In our defense, it’s just that good! We did venture into the squash ravioli in browned butter one autumn, and it was extraordinary. Lately, I’ve been on a meatball sandwich kick—when you find a good one, they are fantastic. I’ve been informed by someone more knowledgeable in cooking that a good meatball is fresh, one that practically falls apart when touched with a fork, while the less desirable meatballs, which I describe as "clay," are the frozen kind. We’ve never encountered a rude host or server, and the restaurant never fails to impress us with its holiday and seasonal decorations. Seriously, we even made a point to visit Pica’s just to enjoy the decorations, and we even managed to snap a picture with Santa once! As for my only complaints: first, sometimes, particularly during late dinner hours, if you order one of the popular pasta shapes, it may taste old and waterlogged. Conversely, if you opt for a less popular shape during those late hours, you might receive a measly portion. Secondly, avoid ordering takeout pasta during fundraising events for the Upper Darby Library; you’ll just end up with a waterlogged brick of pasta dough. Honestly, it might be better to donate directly to the library. To wrap up on a positive note, I highly recommend treating yourself to a wonderful meal at Pica’s cozy and inviting Upper Darby location.
Given my numerous food allergies, this restaurant was fantastic! The staff took the time to come out and gather specific information about my allergies, and even offered me an appetizer that wasn’t on the regular menu. I was really impressed by their exceptional service, which is something you don’t often see. The food and mixed drinks were both excellent! I will definitely be returning.
