I ordered beef rice noodles, and I was happy because there was so much meat in it. The staff were also friendly and made me feel good. This is a really good vietnamese restaurant. Taste and service were perfect. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
My friends and I really enjoyed this place. I got the Pho Ga which was awesome. Be warned, the chili oil is authentic and no joke. I’m used to flavorless chili oil so I added to scoops and realized quickly I only needed 1, or even half of one. Luckily the limes were there to tone down the spiciness. Service was quick. The atmosphere was quaint and really cute. There is 2 hour meter parking out front, otherwise parking can get a little tricky if you’re not familiar with the area. This was my first time having Pho and it was a really great experience. I’ll definitely be back! **Food:** I came in with high expectations, but I’m puzzled about why this place is so highly rated and recommended by Philadelphia food blogs. The portion sizes were generous, but the food itself was lackluster. It wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't enjoyable. The broth had an off-putting smell that made me hesitant to taste it. When I finally did, I can only say it wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn’t good either. The meat lacked flavor; while it was edible, it didn’t leave me wanting more. In short, both the broth and meat felt stale. **Ambiance:** The atmosphere is what I’d call an average old-school setting. It’s a bit dim and not the cleanest, but it gets the job done. If you’re planning to take someone on a date, you might describe it as an authentic spot. **Service:** The staff was friendly and efficient, except for the man who handled my bill. They were quick to serve, but when it came time to settle the tab, things took a turn. If the bill comes to around $25 and a customer pays with two $20s or a $50, just return the correct change rather than assuming the rest is a tip. You didn’t see me driving an expensive car or anything; I don’t have the wealth of names like Bezos or Buffett. Tipping excessively isn’t something I can do, and it felt uncomfortable when he brought back large bills instead of the proper change, making it seem like he was pushing for a bigger tip. That kind of interaction really affected my decision on how much to tip. I still left a tip above average because I didn’t want one person’s actions to tarnish my view of the entire staff, but I can confidently say this will be my first and last visit. I genuinely cannot recommend this place. I remain perplexed as to why it has such high ratings, and I won’t be returning.
My friends and I had a wonderful time at this restaurant. I ordered the Pho Ga, which was fantastic. Just a heads up, the chili oil is the real deal and packs a punch. I'm used to bland chili oil, so I added two scoops and quickly realized that one, or even half of one, would have been enough. Thankfully, the limes helped balance the heat. The service was prompt, and the atmosphere was charming and delightful. There's two-hour metered parking available in front, but parking can be a bit tricky if you're not familiar with the area. This was my first time trying Pho, and it was a memorable experience. I’ll definitely be returning!
