Poor service, bad vibes, strange town. I was a party of one. You'll be left unattended for requests and wait extra long for an extra guacamole (which was a SMALL dollop) for $2.99!! I had to walk to the bar to pay because I waited so long for my check, and still get ignored ?... Cute young Hostess was sweet and attentive but my waitress with the injected lips was cold in her service especially paying her and tipping her 2 dollar tips for a sad service. Oh yeah I asked for chicken taquitos and she gave me beef. 1 Star was base on service. Food was delicious but overly priced dollop quacamole not worth my patience and money again. Never coming back to place again ? ???
My first time in this place, great customer service but the food wasn't good. I ask for Mole poblano, didn't taste even close to the one in Puebla. I have been in other restaurant that sells mexican food and as I eat, I feel the similarity to the original food but this was not the case. ?
This is a long one, will list story at end, this encounter caused me to stop reviewing everything for a month. Overall the food is good, crispy tacos are very good. Prices are very high, dinner for 2, cheese enchilada, soft taco, rice and beans (beans fine, rice okay) and a dry Asada burrito (no drinks) will be $28, which is way too high. This location is in an industrial complex on Benson, south of Foothill. Location seems fine, but for that price the bathroom, seating, everything should be in excellent condition. It is simply okay. Honestly, its value is an $8 burrito and an $11 2 item plate. $20 is what you would expect to pay. Location is easy enough to get to, not near anything, local joint. Staff are interesting, go from bad to awesome, they use calculators so get a receipt and double check their numbers. For my first visit I wanted a cheese enchilada and a soft taco with rice and beans and an asada burrito. I explained when placing my to-go order that I wanted a soft taco not a hard taco, but didn't see that combination listed. Waitress who took my order said it was a #16, but with a soft taco instead. I also ordered a dry asada burrito. I payed for my order and received it quickly enough. As I drove home I realized I paid $30, but couldn't figure how that was correct. I checked my order at home: asada burrito, soft taco, cheese enchilada, side of rice and beans. Small taco, enchilada, burrito, and sides aren't big either. Look at the numbers (I take pictures for my review, you can see what I received too) and they must have charged me for a #16, burrito and soft taco. I call immediately, ask for a manager and am told there is not one there. I head in a while later, explained the situation, and a very wonderful waitress assisted me, I had my statement showing what I was charged, showed her the food from that day. She calculated it out, but couldn't figure why it was still over by about a $1. I don't know what the issue is, but I was over charged, and a crispy taco would about cover it by my figuring. She had one made immediately, offered me a free beverage twice while I waited, declined, and that fixed the issue for me. Annoying, but fixed enough to my satisfaction. So if you go, check your bill, take the recipt and do not leave until you verify you got what you ordered. You may get a wonderful person helping you, or you may not. I likely will not return, the crispy tacos were great, would consider going back for those, but prices are just way too high to make this a place I would frequent. Were this the best Mexican food place I know of, even then the prices would be too high.
This place may be small, but it really delivers. My only complaint is that they don’t have a full bar. I wish the atmosphere were a bit nicer, but it’s clean, well-maintained, and the food is absolutely delicious. It’s a hidden gem you should definitely check out. I highly recommend the chicken mole—it's the only mole I’ll eat from a restaurant. Also, the tacos (number 4) are fantastic!
