Avoid. Very, very overpriced. Food is mediocre at best. Cheese quesadilla was so burnt, shocked they sent it out of the kitchen. Only thing going for it was they did not skimp on cheese When you are charging $15 for cheese and a tortilla shell, plus a handful of dry, unsalted chips one should expect something edible. $25 blackened halibut burrito had a good flavor on the seasoning but the whole thing was super dry. Tablespoon or so of salsa not even close to balancing out the dryness. Will not return and do not recommend. Should have eaten at the gas station for less money and better food. Will not return and do not recommend.
Absolutely do not go to this restaurant. There is something wrong with the owner who also owns a few other restaurants in town. Their burritos and dinners are $19.00 each for very little food. This is not the employee's fault but rather a lack of positive management. That's the first problem. The next problem was that someone in our group ordered a full plate of nachos... but did not want the melted plastic cheese on it and asked rather for melted shredded cheese. For 19. they got a plate with about 20 chips on it and a little sprinkle of unmelted shredded cheese totaling about 1 TB., and a few tomato wedges. THAT's IT for 19.00! They were shocked and sent the plate back asking for the cheese to actually be melted because these are nachos ...and they got their plate back and most of the cheese was not melted still. My spouse and I commented that it was clear that this restaurant with it's high prices and poor quality food was gouging cruise ship passengers. This is embarrassing to local Alaskans. I have no idea how this restaurant has such good reviews. I ate a burrito and it was good but not 19.00 worth of food. Find another place to eat.
We thought we would stop by for a quick bite... Meal was OK but surely can't call it quick. Took awhile just to get fish and chips and a quesadilla.
I was visiting Seward a few weeks ago and had one of the worst dining experiences. I got in a bit late 9pm) and most restaurants were closed save for this one and a few others. Mexican food sounded good after a long drive, so we went in and waited at the counter for service. After a few minutes an employee shows up and simply stares at me. Not even a hello. Ok I 'm willing to cut some slack, maybe it 's been a bad day or a rough dinner service, but it was a bit awkward. Ordered burrito bowls $16 each beans, rice, salsa, chicken). A bit on the pricey side for counter service Mexican food, but it 's Alaska and they 're one of the few places open. I can forgive. Food arrived and the portions were tiny! Tasted pretty average, but then I realized that the kitchen had forgotten the beans in the burrito bowl. We went to inquire and were told that they were out of beans. Um ok. That would have been nice to know when we were ordering or when they realized they were out. Instead they just hoped that we wouldn 't notice that a significant portion of our $16 meals was missing. Nothing was offered to us to compensate. We had to *ask* if the missing food could somehow be made up for. Ended up getting some chips comped $4 value). The attempt at defrauding us really left a bad taste in my mouth. Regrettably, I can 't recommend this business.
