Summer Shack Express - UNCASVILLE

The food here is excellent and reasonably priced, even when it comes to seafood. I absolutely love the shrimp! They also have a raw bar, which is a great addition.

Update (6/11/22): I ordered shrimp tacos but received a shrimp basket instead. When I pointed this out, they insisted I had made a mistake in my order. I wasn't even aware they offered a shrimp basket.

The cooking here lacks attention to detail. The fish was stuck together, and there was a substantial amount of raw dough between them. It was inedible.

I ate here with my wife and a friend on SAT 3/19/22 and ordered the CLAM FRITTERS as an appetizer for the table. I enjoyed the first BUT when I ate the second one that I had hard in some stone and had sudden pain on my right side of molars. As it turned out, there was a PEBBLE in the battery of Clam Fritte I eat. Yes, I said PEBBLE, like in a stone, a rock, something strange that should not be in my food. I took care of the man and Trish. She sounded sincerely empathic when she apologized. Trish let me write down all my information and describe the experience. I had another buffalo chicken sandwich come and say effortlessly that I ate it very slowly and cautiously if I found other stones wandering around my food. Overall food was decent. Fish Tacos quickly became cold, and the Mahi Mahi at $32.00 was high for a casual place like this. Service (Claudia) was professional friendly. Attached Photo shows the Clam Fritters and the kidney shaped object was the actual STONE in my food. I'm going to visit my dentist to rust and see if I cracked a tooth. Still mad...

The wait was pretty long to get the food. The crab cake was decent and the corn bread was very tasty. The lobster roll was very bland and tasted bitter due to the rubber bands. The food overall was only ok, and for the high price was not worth it.
