フィードバックを提供するThe location is lovely, right by the lake. However, the service was quite disappointing. We waited 25 minutes before anyone came to assist us. I found myself trying to catch the waiter’s attention to take our order. After finally receiving our drinks and appetizers, we finished them and then waited another 30 minutes for him to return and take our main order. If the service were to improve, it could be a great spot to relax and enjoy.
My wife and I had spent the afternoon hiking in the area and were quite hungry. Considering a potential move to the area, we decided to visit the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon around 3 PM. Finding parking was easy, which was a positive start. Instead of heading straight to the outdoor seating, we walked inside to be seated, which I now believe was a mistake. We waited about five minutes as one customer seemed to be holding up the cashier, who I assumed was also acting as the hostess, while the rest of the staff walked by us as if we were invisible. Eventually, a high school-aged girl finally acknowledged us, but instead of offering a warm greeting, she looked down at her phone, busy texting. When I asked if we should seat ourselves, she hesitantly replied, "Hold on, I'll find you a seat," adding that we needed to fill out a membership form. She took us to a partially shaded table, which was the closest available, before retreating back to her phone. Is this okay? We reluctantly agreed. I must admit, I’ve never been to a restaurant that hands out a membership form without explaining what it entails. It felt odd, so we set it aside. The temperature was in the low 90s and we decided to move to a better spot. A more polite waiter helped us relocate to a fully shaded area near the outside bar. This was an improvement, although the bar stools were flimsy and uncomfortable—definitely something to consider if you weigh over 150 lbs. We ultimately decided to move again to a table against another outdoor wall, which turned out to be a much more pleasant place, despite the flimsy chairs. There were better chairs available in sunlit areas, but we chose to stay. The environment is truly beautiful. You sit right by the lake, with stunning views of the lower end of Long Pond, which extends north into Pelham, NH. The atmosphere captures the essence of a summer weekend in modern New England, reminiscent of sandy beaches and picturesque water views. Watching the swimmers, boats, jet skis, and rental kayaks was enjoyable, and there are lots of docks for watercraft. This scenic experience alone might justify the bill when you leave, so perhaps your experience will differ from ours. If I return, I’ll be happy to update my review. Once we were seated in the bar area, our waiter, Gruff the Crime Dog, approached us directly and asked for our drink orders. I opted for a house margarita, no salt, while my wife, who doesn’t drink, ordered a cup of tea. He slowly retreated with a prolonged "OK," as if our orders were strange. A reasonable amount of time later, Gruff returned to inform us they had no hot tea, so my wife changed her order to room temperature tap water. A bar should always stock coffee and tea for guests, particularly for those who may have overindulged—what does a box of tea bags cost? My drink arrived in a clear plastic tumbler, the kind you'd buy at a dollar store. The drink was clear, indicating it was made with silver tequila. I prefer my margaritas in traditional Mexican glassware with a caramel color. However, it tasted good, and the alcohol content was satisfactory, earning a drink rating of 3. Once we settled into our final seating, we ordered a plate of five cocktail shrimp with sauce for $10 and my second margarita. The drink came back in reasonable time, but the waiter tried to take my first glass without asking, which is a big no-no. At this point, I was feeling quite tipsy, waiting for the shrimp. It seemed it would only take two minutes to prepare, but we ended up waiting… and waiting… and waiting. Now I was past the point of feeling comfortably inebriated.
We hosted an event at Sandbar this past weekend, and everything was absolutely perfect. The staff was incredibly attentive, the bar service was prompt, and the food was delicious. The owner was also a joy to work with! Our guests were really impressed by the updates and the new menu. The owner truly went above and beyond, ensuring that every detail was just right. He even stepped outside to assist our guests with parking, which isn't something you see every day from restaurant owners. This event was a celebration of life for a young man who had served as a veteran and firefighter. The owner understood the importance of the occasion and provided support to our family in a way we will always be grateful for. Thank you to the owner and the entire staff for making our day so special!
First time at that place and the last. Never has I ever experienced anything like I have in any restaurant before. When I paid the bill at the bar I made the mistake in not leaving a twenty percent tip and the bartender let a customer know about it and then he proceeded to come over to me and threatened me to punch my face in and drown me in the pond. So I then attempted to give the bartender another twenty dollars then I left because he yelled it so loud every one heard him so humiliating never again. Every bartender has there bad with the good.
Had “reservations “ for New Year’s Eve. When they were made asked for dining upstairs as it was quiet , on arrival sat there for 10 minutes, first to greet us was a dog who was roaming around the customers indoors. There were no tables available, and had one option right next to the band that was playing. We were told “upstairs is closed due to the event”. I do understand this is a “club” so wouldn’t bother unless your a member.
