This restaurant epitomizes the attitude of "my stuff doesn't stink." I am a local who has frequented this establishment for the past 25 years, but never have I had such a disappointing experience as I did yesterday when my wife and I stopped in for a sweet treat. Despite being surprised by the price increase since my last visit, I decided to continue supporting this place as it was always a favorite before the island changed hands. I ordered the hot fudge sundae for an inflated $9.04, only to receive a cup of frozen ice cream topped with hot fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry. I was thoroughly let down by the lack of quality for the high price. While I usually don't complain much and understand the challenges businesses have faced due to recent events like COVID, this time I couldn't help but express my disappointment. When I approached the staff to share my feelings, I was told that they have been in business for 51 years and have always done things this way. The man I spoke to even mentioned that if I wanted real ice cream, it would have cost me $12.50. He made it clear that they are not concerned with customer satisfaction, as they believe their reputation speaks for itself. Despite the fact that my decision to never return may not matter to them, I will still share my experience with others to highlight their dismissive attitude towards their patrons.
Very dirty and outdated ice business. eis was averaged for $5.75 a scoop. this is a first-class location for an ice shop. lack of opportunity
Some locals recommended this place on facebook and as they did so, some people commented about the poor cleanliness of this establishment. This place is an absolute treasure the staff was so friendly and we quickly became regulars during our week long stay. Great food, great ice cream, and Jeremy was our favorite personality of our trip (next to Captain John at Mermaid Pirate Dolphin Tours
Four of us went in and all four of us got horrible ice cream. We had to throw it away. It tasted awful, gritty, like it had melted and been refrozen. I was also charged twice as much for a cup instead of a cone!!! I got 2 scoops in a styrofoam cup and was charged almost $10.00! Doesn’t make sense. Never go there. We went across the street and got ice cream at Savannah Praline shop and it was great. ?? Don’t bother with The Sugar Shack. Nasty ?
