We ended up arriving just as they were opening (as they recommended) and were able to secure a seat on their outdoor area which was just perfect. The wait staff are excellent, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect. There is something for everyone here!
In a sea of young beautiful people, Coco Bistro is warm and lively. The island house music and tall foliage creates for an intimate ambiance that can be experienced at any table in the house. Our food was so-so. It didn 't live up to the hype for me. My husband really enjoyed his pork dish, but I 've definitely had better steaks in NYC. I suppose I should 've ordered conch or something typical to the island. On the other hand, I loved the coconut rice, but their famous coconut pie, also fell short. Our service felt a little rushed, and I didn 't appreciate the manager making his rounds to check in with every single table of patrons EXCEPT myself and my husband. Not a good look.
This was not the fine dining experience we expected at all. The service was pleasant enough in some cases, but others had no interaction or professionalism whatsoever. The menus are torn and worn. To sit, I needed to squeeze between a tree truck and a cooler unit. During a short rain they handed out out umbrellas that were broken and absolutely filthy. There was no assistance with the umbrellas. After the brief rain showers ended, the staff went to each empty table and pounded the seats with towels to dry them. The noise was super distracting but the manager said it was the only way they could dry the chairs.... The food was just ok. Parmesan bread was not special. The blackened mahi mahi was actually very good. The tuna was very odd, served with a red sauce, polenta and shishito peppers. Sticky toffee pudding dessert was the highlight of the meal. This was our least favorite meal of the week.
We had a wonderful dinner in their lovely outdoor garden setting on Monday this week. The food and service was absolutely perfect. Need to book a reservation before you arrive on island. You can email them via their website to do so. Highly recommend.
If you are on the island you have to visit coco bistro! Great, unique atmosphere. You feel like you're dining in a canopy of trees in the jungle. We ordered the lobster spring rolls and seafood pasta loved them both. The coconut rice was also delicious. Service was just ok we ordered a salad that never came. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.
