This is a frequent stop for my husband and I. Best Caesar Salad and excellent lentil soup. Go hungry! The pasta dishes are extremely filling, but delicious.
I love sitting outside on patios when the weather is nice, and last night was perfect weather. We had the patio to ourselves. They could use a little refurbish on the patio -- there was no music and wow the wooden benches are hard after sitting for awhile. But the food definitely makes up for it. We had Tableside Caesar Salad. It wasn't made tableside, but their was lots of it and the taste was great. I won't be able to tell you much about many dishes because I always get the Carpaccio when I dine here. I love it. My friend got the Swordfish Piccata and she said it was done to perfection. We had Chocolate Gateaux for dessert. Everyone loved it.
After my many visits to Tulsa, I have come to the conclusion that this town has the best collection of eccentric little Italian restaurants! I've been to Andolini's, Ti Amo, and Mary's Italian Trattoria and I found each to be interesting and serving great food. I am happy to add Dalesandro's to this list of favorites. It's clear that this place is an institution in Tulsa. It's in a great old brick building with high ceilings, a good sized dining room, a nice big bar (no TVs, and that's fine with me!), and two spacious outdoor seating areas. The menu is fairly limited, with nine entrees and a nice choice of appetizers and salads. I asked the bar tender if the menu was changed periodically and he said it hadn't been changed in 20 years, with the exception of 1 or 2 seasonal additions.I chose the lasagna and I have to say it's one of the top 3 I've ever had and unique in its own right. First, it came in a bowl and was not square cut or cooked in its own serving dish. The noodles were soft as butter. There was an abundance of fresh tomato bursting with flavor. The goats milk ricotta cheese had melted in with the other ingredients and gave it a wonderfully creamy texture in the mouth. And the Italian sausage was spicy and zesty, such that the dish bordered on arrabbiata ("angry" red sauce). Every bite was delicious and red wine I had was a perfect match. I can see why people enjoy hanging out here.
