We were only there for some pregame drinks, because we were headed to see a movie at the Roadhouse right after. If we were to stay for food, I'm sure it would have been delicious. The smells were making our mouths water. Our bartender was friendly and funny.
The variety of beer is great, and the food looks great. But the server had at least two sections to herself. I was expecting eye contact, but I understand that it's difficult when you're behind. I could tell that she felt bad when I decided to leave, but I really didn't want to add her to her work load. I'm sure it's worth the wait, but if it's normally like this you'll need to prepared to wait a while. I'll give it another try, just not during the lunch rush.
I wish I could give more than five stars because those wings are definitely a solid 10. They are the best wings I've ever had, and I'm a big wing fan! The combination of the dry rub and the smoked flavor is simply heavenly. Honestly, I prefer the naked wings to truly savor the taste of their rub and smoke. The pretzel twists with the trio of sauces are also a big hit! I really enjoy making this local spot a regular part of my life!
We had the pleasure of being served by the world's friendliest server, which was definitely the highlight of our quick visit. After a long day of hiking among the Saguaros, we ordered a few appetizers and some beers. The wings were delicious; we got them plain with BBQ and mild sauce on the side. Our friends tried the pretzel, which looked really appetizing. The beers were good, although they could have had bolder flavors. Unfortunately, they were running low on beer options—the hazy was unavailable, and the Mexican lager was tapped out. Additionally, none of their patio heaters were working, making it quite chilly outside. With a bit more attention to detail and care, this place has great potential.
Like many other beer-serving establishments, this one falls into the trap of offering good beer but mediocre food. The beer was nice, but the food left something to be desired. To clarify, it wasn't terrible—just average meat in... ARIZONA! If this were in DC or MD, I would give it a solid four stars for the same offering. However, in Arizona, it was a letdown. That said, it doesn't mean we won't return to this place when we're in the area again.
