Mex On Main - Trumbull

We build a house around the corner and decided to try Mex on Main. Overall, it was a very pleasant fast Kausal Tex Mex that reminded me of Baja Fresh. The crispy tacos were crispy with well seasoned meat and fresh toppings. The rice was fluffy and beautifully spiced. The black beans were meh, but a liberal application of hot sauce and pico helped. The Salsa Bar had a good choice of options, although I was not a fan of sweet tasting classic salsa. The other Salsas was more to my taste and a good companion to free chips.

North of town locale on state route 111(Monroe turnpike), the main north/South route through the long hill section of town. Outdoor seating available (weather permitting).This part of town is a booming business corridor.

I absolutely love this restaurant! I find myself going there almost every day. In my opinion, the beef is the standout dish. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. I’d give it 11 out of 10 stars!

The owner manages the register and is very friendly. The menu offers a wide variety, and everything is made fresh to order. The priciest item is the Chicken Fajitas at $12.49 (as of September 2021). I tried the chicken chimichanga, which came with Spanish rice, black beans, chips, and salsa from the salsa bar for $11.49. It was delicious, so I decided to order a chili lime salad to take home for lunch tomorrow. They thoughtfully separated the hot items without me even asking! They also partner with Grubhub and DoorDash for delivery. Conveniently located near Home Depot and next to the Shell gas station.

I ordered the nachos and they were incredible! I will definitely be going back.
