Gathering Place - Troy

One of my favorite pizza places! Great Detroit deep dish pizza! Bar is great. The bacon cheeseburger is one of the best I have ever had. Appetizers are wonderful and dips are made in house. Prices are good for the high quality you get. Can get busy during major sporting events. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I always leave a good tip for the great service I always get. If you want to carry out, they are pretty fast, and food always comes to you hot and tasty! Highly recommend! Update: Service not as good recently. Much slower than in past here. Food still very good.

I probably hadn't been here in 35 40 years. How the place has changed! Had group of 12 here for a birthday lunch. Food was terrible. I had a small square pizza. Ate a couple slices, cause I was hungry, took the other 2 home. I threw them away as I walked in the house. And I'm a pizza lover, I've probably never thrown pizza. BIL ate 3 or 4 bites of his Caesar salad and coulnd't eat anymore. MIL said the fish and chips were terrible. How do you mess up fish and chips? The only dish I saw that people finished was the French onion soup. The only thing that saved this from being a 1 star review was our server. She was the only server there, with a half full bar, a group of 6 8 watching football, a 4 top and our table of 12. She freaking rocked!

Private room was a little overcrowded, but seats are arranged so that you can see interacting with any easily accommodated our group. Service was excellent!!! Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and fast.

I gotta say it's been a few years since I've been there and totally disappointed. There were 2 guys at the bar that were very drunk. Fell off their stool a couple of times and were not asked to leave and only when they fell into another patron were they asked to leave. They were throwing around the f word. Clearly overserved and no concern from the staff about their actions and the other patrons. If you want a shot and a beer go for it, but definitely not a place to bring your family.

Pizza is no good anymore it's a shame. Great wings and cheaper beer though
