Historic restaurant in the city center. Excellent gnocchi with goulash. Ditto sausage with Kren. Advised. The staff is very friendly and puts you at ease Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

The three of us arrived on the evening of April 25th at 8.50pm. The owner invited us to sit outside while waiting for a table, which he said took about 20 minutes. Sitting outside, we are served by two different waiters, one who serves us wine anticipating that most of the dishes are finished and one who, with a desperate heart, invites us to leave as they were about to order 30 people and they hadn 't already more food. Upon our request for explanations, as we were seated by the owner, we were told that the latter was not very realistic and that they cannot go against his word. However, the only balanced member of staff, the waiter Michele, sincerely apologizes to us and invites us to stay, choosing from the remaining dishes, which are actually very good but of limited quantity. When paying, the owner at the checkout doesn 't even give us a look or an apology and doesn 't even say hello or thank us during our exit. We continue to wonder how poor Michele survives. I waited a while to write this review. Since they reopened, we have had the opportunity to go several times and on each occasion we have experienced improvised and struggling service. Some of the more serious things: brought an alcoholic beer to a mother who was breastfeeding (and who obviously asked for non alcoholic) long waits with very few customers present (the number of staff almost exceeded the customers in the room) boiler dishes arrived cold, almost from the fridge simple requests such as no sauerkraut, yes potatoes in the pan were ignored. Furthermore, the sauerkraut was underneath all the rest of the meat on the plate so unfortunately whoever was eating noticed it afterwards. The staff should be trained in a more professional way, they are also nice but they should be organized in such a way as to convey attention to the customer. Otherwise the place will become purely tourist and risks slowly losing the entire Trieste segment of customers.
