On a business trip with a colleague, we chose Pellolitto but did not make reservation. All reservations were for outside tables so we sat inside, which was nice. Ordered the Calimar and it was very good. We both had pizzas (mine vegan) and they were decent. Good wines with mostly Spanish appellation. The biggest negative was what we took as a bit of American animus. With the Spanish wines and the Spanish music playing we were a little bemused as we thought it was an Italian restaurant. My colleague inquired about what type of restaurant did they consider their place and it was met with "mediterranean." My colleague pointed to the Spanish music and she respond that it was Cuban. He said okay "Spanish?" Then she retorted, "You are American, no?" which came across as insulting. Yes, these dumb Americans actually know traditional Cuban music is heavily influenced by African and Spanish music. In fact the Cuban music being played (Buena Vista Social Club) falls into the genre of Guajira which was derived from Punta Cubano popular in Spain in the 18th/19th century. The Spanish Tre guitar is also prevalent on this album. But what do we know.Otherwise, a decent place for a meal.
De første 10 minuttene her lå det an til 4 stjerner. Svær bra, men etter at husets rødvin, (spansk fra 2008) var servert sammen med godt brød og oliven med chili, gikk utrolige 45 min før forretten kom. Hovedretten kom faktisk sammen med forretten, og da ble det hele latterlig. Et par på nabobordet skulle på nattkino etter maten, men det gikk i vasken. Ser at restauranten har åpent alltid, og det burde de slutte med. Kokken manglet sikkert søvn, og kokken som burde vært med å hjulpet, var vel hjemme og sov. Maten var veldig god. Det skal de ha!
Valget var tilfeldig , men det viste seg i etterkant at restauranten var anbefalt på Tripadvisor . Vi ble godt mottatt av servitørene som serverte godt brød med kiliolje . Det gikk ned på høykant sammen med husets vin , men så var det stopp. Etter 45 min ventetid måtte vi etterlyse forretten som kun var bruschetta . Det skulle gå enda 10 min. før maten kom på bordet, men da kom forrett og hovedrett samtidig. Maten smakte godt, men dette holder ikke mål. Greier ikke kjøkkenet å få maten ut i tide, er det bedre de sier det er fullt.
De flamboyante chef, Pello, runt met zwier zijn restaurant met Italiaanse gerechten. 's Avonds al lang op voorhand volgeboekt. Wij kwamen er over de middag en genoten er van lekkere pasta.
