We ended up buying a whole pie, sat down at one of the tables, and ate quite a bit of it. We were able to bring it along on our road trip and enjoy it at several different spots over a couple days.
I love pie. I got a chicken pot pie and a slice of cherry crumble. Was not disappointed. It was super busy as a street fair was going on, but I'd go back if given the chance. Could have been better if the pie was hot and ice cream were involved.
We stopped in during Friday afternoon, a few minutes before closing. The staff was quite welcoming, and we were treated with a warm welcome. We had a slice of pie, warmed up, and picked up an additional pie to take home. The pie filling could be distinguished: not mushy, and clear flavors of apple, berries. The pie dough had a warm, baked flavor, without hints of shortening, and the crumble top is a good excuse to eat oatmeal! It was way different from another Grand Traverse Pie location, in Plymouth. This is the reason it is a must to get a fresh piece of pie in Traverse City, rather than the other, down south location:great service, and fresh pie!
Restaurant was SUPER dirty food was decent but not worth the price. They did not have any straws for kids. All of the booster seats were broken.
I got the apple crumble and it was amazing. Also got the chicken pot pie. It was good. A little too mich pepper for me, but good nonetheless.
