Harold's Seafood on the Strand

Last night, my friend and I ordered fish and chips from here. I ordered the grilled fish plate and it was absolutely delicious. The portion size was very generous and good. Although we were very busy, we received our orders immediately. However, the actual MVP was the server. They went beyond and beyond to create a welcoming environment and could remember faces to create an efficient service. I will recommend this place to all my friends!

I walked in with my friend as hungry tourists from NSW searching for a good feed without reading any reviews. We’ve dined in many so-called “high-end” seafood restaurants and bought takeaways in many “best fish-and-chips shops in town (with the g’day mate marketing spiel)” in our road trip journey. Harold’s is one of the best and surprisingly one of the most affordable. We spent $37 on a meal deal that could feed up to six hungry humans. We’ll definitely call in again should we ever return to Townsville for a whistlestop.

Was very satisfied with my meal, beautiful size fish, decent size chips and crispy, sauces are huge and delivered lost lemon without asking, Calamari rings were delicious. The store was a little tight, but they got the food in time.

I thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips at this restaurant. The crumbed barramundi was incredibly crispy and fresh. The portion size was perfect, and it was cooked to perfection. The chips were also excellent, with no overpowering taste of oil – the batter was beautifully crisp. I definitely want to return to this place.

The staff was nice. The price was $50, but the sizes of the Mackrel were large. Chips were beautiful and crisp. The Calamari was delish. The nuggets were a little overcooked, but they were delicious.
