Our host recommended this restaurant to us, and we were very pleased with her recommendation.Easy to find, and with seating inside or outside. We chose inside as outside can get 'fresh' after 9pm. We were greeted with a smile and friendly welcome; water, olives and hors d'oeuvres were brought to our table. We chose the 23€ menu, which gave us an amuse bouche, starter, main course, cheese plate, and dessert. Coffee was another 2 or 3€ and was excellent. The food was excellent, well presented, and served in a very timely manner, neither slow, nor rushed. The house red wine was also very good and around 13€ for the carafe. We were amused by the two parrots, one of which sings la Marseillaise, and the other one talks. We chatted a little with the owner, Vanessa, and later the chef, in our broken French, which was very amiable. We would definitely return again if staying in the area, it was comfortably the best place that we ate out at during our holiday, and the singing parrot was a bonus.
Do not judge this book by its cover! And take your time to peek inside. The food is an above average version of what the region has to offer, at a great price.
We went there after a visit to the Roquefort caves. The lunch was good with first quality local products and I enjoyed it but the very limited personnel made it that we waited an hour and a half for our food andvthatbis unbearable. They have to manage better.
This is cozy village restaurant serves surprisingly high-end traditional French cooking. The 22-euro lunch menu was a sumptuous 5-course feast, balanced, well-paced, and elegantly served. Our bottle of local Marcillac red wine (also just 22 euros) was a perfect accompaniment. Sharp and creamy Roquefort cheese from the nearby Roquefort caves appeared in several dishes. The seafood ravioli are especially good. Diners can choose between the sunny porch overlooking the main street (shared with two well-behaved parrots) or the more formal high-ceilinged dining room, with comfy red velvet chairs. Highly recommended!
