Roku Den - Torquay

Unfortunately, the menu is shrinking. her famous ice cold beer on hahn is no longer available! instead it is luke warm bottled beer. eating also seems to have lost its polish, smaller portions, easier presentation. our family really enjoyed coming over the years here. but we'll miss it one thing and hopefully pick it up again.

We made a return visit and were not disappointed! fresh and fabulous dishes. loved the teriyaki chicken and rice bowl and the bark tataki salat! the salmonashimi was a generous portion and much ginger. service was friendly and fast. loves the big wein. can not wait, back very soon.

Eating was great and well presented. personal very informative and attentive. well above the pub standard. beautiful modern decor but cozy feeling.

Small intimate restaurant on Bell Street.Received a warm welcome from front of house Sophie who was personable and knew her menu. We shared Kingfish and Tuna sashimi,Panka prawns,Scallops and Sushi rolls.All dishes were well cooked and tasty. Where I thought the restaurant fell down and...thus my rating of Good ,was the delay between certain courses caused by I feel the precedence given to take away diners as opposed to in house diners . The restaurant has a small but good wine list.

We loved the food. Tangy tataki beef salad, lovely sashimi and tasty teriyaki chicken with rice and veg. All really fresh and delish. The service was outstanding and with one of us unable to eat onions or shallots, they went out of their way...to accommodate us. Really happy experience and it’s definitely on our list to return to on our next Torquay visit (sooner rather than later)!
